We are now at a crucial point in Enterprise Bargaining. The claims have been put to UQ Management, and the outcome of these negotiations will shape the pay rises and working conditions that affect all of us over the life of the next agreement.
The cost of living is not an abstract issue. It is being felt every week by staff across UQ — in rent, mortgages, groceries, bills, transport, and the daily pressure of making wages stretch further.
UQ staff work hard, we care deeply about this university, and deserve a pay rise that keeps up with the real cost of living.
But we will only win a fair outcome if management can see that staff are united, visible and ready to stand together.
