32 Salary Movement Within an Academic Level

32.1 An Academic employeeEmployee will be eligible to progress to the next highest salary increment within the Academic level as set out in Schedule 3 automatically unless the employee receives an “unsatisfactory” assessment during an employee appraisalAnnual Performance and Development process carried out in accordance with clause 1X (Annual Performance and Development Process for Academic Employees), or the employee is already at the top of the relevant increment. 

32.2 Subject to clause 32.3, Movement movement to the next highest salary point will be effective from twelve (12)12 months from appointment or the date on which the previous increment was made subject to clause 33.3. In cases where an employee appraisalAnnual Performance and Development process is delayed, the effective date will not be changed and any increase in salary will be paid retrospectively in accordance with clause 32.1. 

32.3 An Academic employee Employee who has been absent on unpaid leave in excess of three (3)3 months, in aggregate, may have the Annual Performance and Development review process delayed by the period of absence and any resultant increase delayed by the period of absence.
