Gender Affirmation Leave & Queer Workers

UQUTE, the UQ chapter of QUTE  (Queer Unionists in Tertiary Education), is an Issues Group to hear from UQ staff about improvements needed for Gender Affirmation Leave in Enterprise Bargaining.

UQUTE is focused on issues affecting workers of diverse sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics. As part of bargaining, we want to hear from staff interested in improving gender affirmation leave, including stronger paid leave provisions, access for casual and fixed-term staff, flexible work arrangements, privacy protections, and recognition of support people beyond immediate family.

We also want to hear from queer workers more broadly about their workplace issues, so UQ’s commitments to inclusion become meaningful, enforceable rights for staff.
